Description
An ancient intelligent culture that was composed of two different life-forms, one of energy, and the other of matter.  The physical Koinonians destroyed their civilization a millenium ago after several generations of war, leaving ruins that were studied by an Enterprise-D away team in 2366.  The surviving Koinonians had very strong ethics, and tried to provide for young Jeremy Aster after his mother was killed by an ancient artifact of that war (The Bonding -TNG).
